How To Draw A Superhero – Let’s Get Started!
Step 1
In this guide to drawing a superhero, we’ll show you the basics of a character model, and as we move on to the next steps, you’ll be able to customize the aspects to create your character! Let’s start with the head of the superhero first. This drawing can be quite difficult, so it is recommended to draw with a pencil first before going over it later with a pen.
First, just draw the face shape and hairstyle as shown in the picture. You can also use photos of other hairstyles you like if you want to personalize your hero a bit more!
Step 2
We’re going to take this superhero drawing slowly to make sure you don’t get stuck on any part! With that in mind, simply draw two vertical lines from the jawline of the face you drew in the previous step.
Step 3
In this third step of our how to draw a superhero guide, we have a bit tricky step, so be sure to follow the reference image closely while slowing it down. Pull down from the neck and gently pull the shoulders down. Next, look carefully at the reference image and draw in the arms while paying close attention to the shapes of the different muscles as they appear in our example.
Once you are happy with the arms, you can draw your superhero’s torso and waistline. This is a step that would significantly help from using a pencil first, and it strength take some practice! However, we understand you can accomplish it, so don’t give up!
Step 4
The classic superhero style has a rather simple and reduced use of lines for faces. You can use the reference image to draw a face for your superhero drawing. It may look complicated at first glance, but it is made up of fairly simple lines. You can also tweak the lines a bit for different facial expressions if you like!
Step 5
The legs we draw for step 5 of this superhero drawing guide might also look a bit complicated, but if you look closely at our sample picture, you can see that they are made up of fairly simple shapes. There’s a bit of a triangular shape below her waist, then you can draw her legs coming down from that shape. When you’re happy with how the legs look, just draw a few details like the waistband, collar, and sleeves for your hero’s outfit.
Step 6
Your superhero drawing is now assembled! For this step, you can use straight lines from the shoulders and behind the arms to give your hero a cape. Then use some thin lines on the elbows, chest, and knees as shown in the picture to add some definition to the muscles.
Next, we drew a sample logo on his chest, but you can get creative with this step! Maybe you could design your logo to create a new superhero? What theme will your hero have? You can show us using the logo you designed!
Step 7
In this step, we will add some final details before proceeding with the coloring. You can draw a few lines on the waistline to give your figure a more muscular definition. Then you can finish the details with some lines for the tips of his boots and his cape.
Step 8
Your superhero drawing is now almost complete! Now comes the fun coloring part and you can show us how creative you can be here! We’ve chosen a color scheme for our example, but feel free to use your colors as this guide is all about creating your superhero! What powers would this superhero have? If you have a theme in mind, you can color it to match that theme.
