Weekend vibes: 9 easy strategies to make the most of your time

Weekend vibes: 9 easy strategies to make the most of your time, For the most part, we spend the entire week looking forward to Friday – after all, is there anything more wonderful than a Friday afternoon knowing that you have the rest of the weekend ahead of you? The only issue? So often, the weekend passes you by in a haze, and before you know it, it’s Sunday night, and you’re ironing shirts and wondering what you’re going to put in the kids’ lunchboxes this week that they’ll really eat.

Does this sound familiar?

I know. As a result, I’m attempting to make the most of my Saturdays and Sundays. Do you want to follow suit? Why not make the most of the weekend vibes? Here’s how to do it:

Weekend vibes: 9easy strategies to make the most of your time

1. Get up when you normally do.

Yes, we are aware that it is the WEEKEND. And you’re definitely shattered from the week. But bear with me: Oversleeping messes with your circadian rhythm and alters your biological clock, so instead of feeling rejuvenated at the end of the weekend, you’ll feel just as weary as you did at 5 p.m. on Friday.

Instead, try to go to bed at a reasonable hour on weekends, preferably before midnight, and get up no later than 30 minutes later than you regularly do during the week. Instead, schedule a short nap into your afternoon as a weekend treat, even if it’s just a 10-minute nap on the couch. Studies have shown that naps are good for our health and are far better for our schedule than sleeping in.

2. Put your phone away

These days, we all spend far too much time on our smartphones. And it isn’t helping our physical or emotional wellness in any way.

So disconnect! Your brain needs to unwind and purge itself of the tension you’ve accumulated throughout the week. Turn your phone off or put it somewhere you won’t be tempted to glance at it. Instead, if you want to read something, choose a magazine or a real book.

3. Work up a sweat

Yes, it’s the weekend, but trust me when I say that scheduling some time to be physically active throughout the weekend – especially in the morning – will make you feel so much better throughout the day. You’ll feel better, and energized, And in my suggestion, a men’s co-ord set would help you get good sleep, and awake feeling revitalized.

4. Reflect back on your week (and set a goal for next week)

Taking 10-15 minutes to reflect on what you accomplished over the week is a terrific way to start the weekend. Allow your thoughts to flow and write down anything that comes to mind. Celebrate your victories, no matter how minor they may be.

This doesn’t have to take much time, but take a few moments to think of one item you really want to get done next week. Then consider what you’ll need to do to make this a reality. It could be clearing out the spare room, organizing the closets, or working on a project at work; whatever it is, if you develop a plan, you are far more likely to follow through.

5. Spend time with those you care about.

Being around people we love and who love us back is extremely beneficial to our health, both mental and physical. Remember that people aren’t always excellent at reaching out and expressing they miss you or want to see you, so call or drop by anyhow – don’t just call when you need them. Returning messages and phone calls, listening and talking — human connection, particularly the connection we have with those who mean most in our lives, is critical to our well-being.

6. Take a breath of fresh air

Most of us spend far too much of our week indoors, and the truth is that not getting enough sunlight and vitamin D can be harmful to our health on multiple levels. Getting out on the weekend, whether for a walk, a stroll through your local farmer’s market, or a quick run around the block, can refresh you.

8. Do something kind for yourself

Because it’s the weekend, after all. So plan in a little of whatever makes you feel unique and spoiled. After the kids have gone to bed, treat yourself to a glass of wine, a massage, a long, candle-lit bath, and some fresh flowers from the market, or dress up with amazing men’s printed shirts. Weekends should be about giving you something to look forward to.

9. Make an effort to be happy.

The weekend is such a wonderful time to focus on the positive aspects of life and to forget about the stresses of the week. Try to reprogram your mind to avoid negative and stressful ideas and instead concentrate on what you can control – and remember to be present and live in the now.

Remember that laughter is the best medicine for everything – studies have shown that it not only reduces stress but also protects against heart disease and boosts your immune system.
