I’ve previously written about the benefits of wireless Bluetooth keyboards and why you should acquire one if you haven’t already. And, as previously said, I exclusively use laptops and never desktop computers, so I like the versatility that a Bluetooth keyboard provides!
But what about the keyboard’s ergonomics?
If you use a keyboard frequently, you may get carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Which is defined as a “medical illness in which the median nerve is pinched at the wrist, resulting in paresthesia, numbness, and muscle weakness in the hand.” Wikipedia provided the quotation.
This means that if you prefer to type for long periods of time with little to no rest, you may get CTS. And if you’ve never had it, chances are you don’t want to! Even after surgery, damage can and sometimes is irreparable.
Those fantastically designed ergonomic Bluetooth keyboards aren’t just for show. As nice as they are (in my opinion – does that make me sad? ). The goal here is to allow a keyboard to be used for long periods of time with little or no discomfort. Reducing the probability of CTS significantly.
