The Simpsons are likely the most famous family on earth! Since 1989, this cartoon family has dominated television, and its popularity is far from waning! One of the family’s most prominent members is the eldest son, Bart Simpson. This naughty young man is always up to something and ready to make a witty comment.

How to Draw Bart Simpson – let’s Get Started!

Step 1

In this first step of our guide on how to draw Bart Simpson, we will start with his head. To begin this process, start with a circle for your first eye. Then use a curved line from the right side of the vision for the nose. Once you’ve drawn the nose, you can draw another circular shape coming out of the eye and connecting to the nose. 

Don’t forget to add some dots on the eyes for his pupils! We can remove the rest of his head with the nose and eyes drawn. Next is to draw a line down from the look on the right and then curve it sharply to the left for her smiling mouth. Then draw a line from the eye that becomes a bunch of sharp lines for the top of his head. Finally, finish this step by removing the back of his head with a curved line for the ear. Connect everything at the bottom of his neck, and you’re ready for step 2!

Step 2

Now that you’ve drawn the head for your Bart Simpson image, you can start drawing his body in the next section. First, draw slightly curved lines from the neck to the chest. Then these lines will swell into some belly lines. Then you can draw some round shapes for the sleeves of his shirt. You can finish this step by drawing his pants using some rounded lines. Once you’ve replicated everything on the reference image, you’re ready to go!

Step 3

In the third step of our guide on how to draw Bart Simpson, we will remove his arms. The arm on the left will be sticking out to the side since it will be resting on his faithful skateboard, which we will draw later. Then the other arm will be bent at your side, and both components can be removed with curved and rounded lines.

Step 4

This part of your Bart Simpson drawing will have you drawing Bart’s legs. The left leg will be bent to the side, and the right leg will be straight. Bart has a bright yellow body, a red shirt, and blue pants, so this reference image will show you how to color Bart accurately. You can also use some of his own color choices, and you can have fun getting creative with his color choices! 

Next, you can decide which artistic media you will use to bring the colors to life. The characters on the show have bright, vibrant colors, and there are a few mediums you could use for that look. Using colored pens and paints would be great for that look, but you could also use more subtle mediums if you prefer!
